Your Body Is Carrying More Than It Should

You're sleeping, but not really recovering. You're getting through the day, but the tension in your shoulders, the noise in your head, and the low-grade exhaustion never quite go away. A lot of people try to push through it, telling themselves that rest will come eventually. But when your nervous system is constantly overstimulated, ordinary rest isn't enough.

Stress, chronic muscle tightness, anxiety, and mental fatigue build up in ways that a night of sleep or a weekend off can't fully address. What your body actually needs is a complete break from sensory input, an environment where it can stop bracing and finally let go.

That's exactly what a sensory deprivation tank session at Satori Therapeutics in Saskatoon is designed to do.

What Is Float Therapy, and How Does It Work?

A sensory deprivation tank, also called a float tank or isolation tank, is a lightproof, soundproof pod or pool filled with body-temperature water and approximately 1,000 lbs of dissolved Epsom salt. The salt solution creates natural buoyancy, allowing you to float effortlessly on the surface without any effort from your muscles or joints.

With no light, no sound, and no physical pressure on your body, your nervous system stops processing external stimuli entirely. The result is a state of deep relaxation that's difficult to reach any other way, often described as the deepest rest people have experienced outside of sleep.

Saskatoon's Float Therapy Destination — Pod, Pool, and Tandem Options

At Satori Therapeutics in north-end Saskatoon, we offer private float pod and float pool sessions, with the option to float together in our tandem pool. Whether you're coming in solo or with a partner, we have a setup that works for you.

Our team is here to walk you through your first float so you arrive feeling informed and relaxed, not anxious. And because we're also home to a team of registered massage therapists, many clients combine a float session with an RMT treatment for a full recovery experience, something you won't find at a standalone float studio.

Sessions are facilitated by Bree, our dedicated float facilitator, in a clean, calm, and welcoming environment.

  • Float pod (private, single occupancy)
  • Float pool (larger tank, individual or tandem)
  • Tandem floats available for two people floating together

Recharge and Reflect

After your session you'll shower, rehydrate, and ease back into the day. Many people describe feeling lighter, clearer, and noticeably calmer for hours afterward.

The Benefits of a Sensory Deprivation Tank Session

Regular float therapy can offer meaningful relief for both body and mind:

  • Deep stress and anxiety relief: Removing all sensory input calms the nervous system at a level that ordinary rest rarely achieves.
  • Muscle recovery and pain relief: The buoyancy of the Epsom salt solution takes pressure off joints and muscles, easing physical tension without any force.
  • Mental clarity and better sleep: Many clients report improved focus and deeper sleep in the days following a float session.

Frequently Asked Questions About Float Therapy in Saskatoon

Yes. Float tanks are designed with safety in mind, and you are in full control throughout your session. You can open the pod at any time, and the water is only about 30 cm deep. Our facilitator will walk you through everything before your session.

Just yourself. We provide towels, earplugs, and everything you need for your session. If you have longer hair, bring a hair tie. Avoid shaving or waxing right before your float, as the salt water may cause temporary skin sensitivity.

Yes. The high concentration of Epsom salt creates an environment where bacteria and microorganisms cannot survive. The water is also filtered between every session.

Many people who consider themselves claustrophobic find floating comfortable because the pod and pool are larger than they expect, and you are never locked in. If you have concerns, mention it when you book and we'll help you choose the right option.

Sessions start at $70 for 60 minutes, with 90-minute ($100) and 120-minute ($130) options available. Tandem float pool sessions are also available for two people floating together.
