When Your Body Holds Tension Your Mind Can't Fix

There's a kind of exhaustion that sleep doesn't reach. Months of stress, chronic muscle tension, or an injury that won't settle leaves your nervous system running even when you're trying to rest. You've probably tried the obvious things. They help, but only so far.

Float therapy works at a different level. By removing gravity, sound, and light all at once, it gives your body something it rarely gets: a complete break from input. Most people feel the shift within the first 20 to 30 minutes. Many describe it as the deepest rest they've had in years.

What Is Float Therapy?

Float therapy involves lying in a tank or pool filled with body-temperature water and roughly 1,000 lbs of dissolved Epsom salt. The salt keeps you fully buoyant with no effort. The environment is lightproof and soundproof, allowing your brain to settle into a deeply restorative state.

At Satori Therapeutics in Saskatoon, you can choose a private float pod or our open float pool, including tandem sessions for two. Sessions run 60, 90, or 120 minutes.

Float Therapy at Satori: More Than a Float Studio

What sets Satori apart is that our registered massage therapists, Mandy Fahr RMT and Hannah Redlich RMT, work out of the same clinic. Many clients combine a float with an RMT session on the same visit, targeting physical tension and nervous system recovery together.

Why clients choose Satori:

  • Float pod and open pool options, including tandem sessions for two
  • RMT care available the same visit; massage and float therapy on-site together
  • Open seven days a week with online booking

The Session

Once you're in, there's nothing to do. Most people reach deep relaxation within 20 to 30 minutes. First-timers often start with 60 or 90 minutes. Tandem pool sessions are available for two.

After You Float

You'll shower and ease back into your day. Most people feel calmer and physically lighter for several hours. Many book an RMT treatment the same visit to extend that feeling further.

What People Notice After Floating

Deeper rest: many clients describe their first float as the most rested they've felt in months, often within a single session

Less physical tension: the buoyancy of the Epsom salt solution takes pressure off muscles and joints in a way that's hard to replicate anywhere else

A quieter mind: extended time away from screens, noise, and stimulation has a way of carrying over well into the hours and days that follow

Better sleep: many regulars notice that float sessions improve how deeply they sleep in the nights after, particularly when combined with an RMT treatment the same day
